Stylecraft Willow square blanket progress

I have decided that before I buy any more yarn for my stash, I am going to run down my existing stock. Looking at the remaining Stylecraft yarns left over from the ripple blanket, (along with some cream from another project) I get the urge to start on blocks!

The Jan Eaton 200 Crochet blocks book was a gift that I received from a very thoughtful friend. It is full of great block patterns and my favourite (along with many other crocheters) has to be the Willow Square!

So here are the first few…

should I mix in some different block styles?

Stylecraft Life ripple blanket

Yay finished my lap blanket….This was so much fun and quicker than I thought. I love the colours and the light weight of the blanket. My only recommendation is, if making for an adult, you may want to make it a little larger than in the pattern.

I used the Stylecraft life DK yarn, and colours as per the pattern sheet. I have lots of colours left over so already planning another colourful piece. Will update you on the style shortly.

Pattern can be found on www.stylecraft-yarns.co.uk (not free). Alternatively you could use the free ripple blanket tutorial from the wonderful Attic 24 blog and come up with your own colour and size combo!

Crochet star baby blanket

This was a pure delight to make!

I was unable to get the same colour yarn as in the pattern and after some browsing on Ravelry, I came across a blanket made with King Cole double Knitting (Summer fruit from the flash collection and white from the comfort collection). So I gave it a try and finished it just in time to give to the lovely mum to be.
