What a fabulous day! I had my long awaited first tambour class at couture beading and it was so fun. I am bursting with ideas, but for now it will just be continuous practice while I get to grips with the basic techniques. I am so inspired from the lesson and I cannot wait to build on my knowledge and incorporate into my regular hobbies.
A huge thank you to Lesley who is an amazing teacher with great patience and phenomenal knowledge.
My intro included learning to add beads and sequins to organza fabric….
….and I also had a go at my first ribbon rose! I am delighted with this cute little piece. I will be using up some of my ribbon stash to practice these.
A bit of weekend dress making with mum. Loose fit with side zip fastening and button detail down the front.
Brilliant suggestion from mum to change the direction of the print on the skirt from the top. I think it looks rather nice and it is super comfy. We got the initial pattern outline by using an existing dress to work out the pieces and then added our own detail. Can’t wait to design up another one!
Well this was great fun, another WATG kit. This is a present for my sister in some of her favourite colours. Now that I have finished it, it reminds me of a Minion, (from the movie Despicable Me)! Really, really simple pattern, lovely soft cotton and comfy loose fit.
My first WATG (Wool and the gang) project. Fearless Cardigan – Knitted all in one piece, how cool! The yarn is so soft and it’s a super quick (but pricy) bit of knitting. I am pleased with my new wardrobe piece, although the yarn does seem to be shedding a lot already. Lets see how it wears over time.
Check out the 25mm knitting needles! Knitting and an arm workout all in one.
I wouldn’t mind having another go in a more adventurous colour in the future and also making the sleeves a bit longer, but until then, on with the next project..
